Standards that protect your projects
Quality isn't a one-time checkbox. We continuously verify skills, track performance, and remove developers who don't meet standards. Reputation is earned per milestone.

Three pillars of quality
How we ensure developers maintain the quality you expect.
Skills Verification
How we validate that developers can do what they claim.
Portfolio review
We review work samples and prior projects for each claimed skill.
Experience alignment
Professional history must align with listed areas of expertise.
Technology stack verification
Claimed technologies are verified against demonstrated experience.
Skill-specific ratings
Ratings are tracked per skill, not just overall, giving accurate signals.
Performance Metrics
The numbers we track to measure consistent delivery quality.
On-time delivery rate
Percentage of milestones delivered by the agreed deadline.
First-pass approval rate
Percentage of milestones approved without requiring revisions.
Overall rating
Aggregate buyer rating across all completed contracts.
Dispute rate
Frequency of disputes relative to completed contracts.
Removal Policy
When and how developers are removed from the platform.
Consistent underperformance
Developers who repeatedly miss deadlines or receive poor ratings.
Platform rule violations
Off-platform payments, unprofessional conduct, or fraud.
Repeated disputes lost
Pattern of disputes resolved against the developer.
Inactivity or abandonment
Developers who abandon active contracts without resolution.
Performance thresholds
The numbers developers need to maintain for good standing.
| Metric | Healthy | Warning | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| On-time delivery | ≥ 85% | < 70% | Milestones delivered by deadline |
| Overall rating | ≥ 4.0 / 5.0 | < 3.5 / 5.0 | Average buyer rating |
| First-pass rate | ≥ 75% | < 60% | Approved without revisions |
| Dispute rate | < 5% | > 10% | Disputes per contract |
Developers falling into warning zones may receive reduced visibility and notifications. Sustained underperformance can lead to removal.
What this means for buyers
How our quality standards translate to your experience.
Pre-filtered talent
By the time you see a developer, they've already passed vetting and maintained performance standards.
Meaningful ratings
Per-milestone ratings from verified contracts give you an accurate picture of consistent quality.
Self-improving pool
Underperformers are removed over time. The developer pool gets better, not worse.
Milestone payment backstop
Even if quality standards don't catch everything, milestone funding protects your funds until you approve.
“Reputation is earned per milestone.”
Past success doesn't guarantee future results—that's why we track ongoing performance. Developers can't coast on old reviews. Every milestone counts.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about our quality standards.
Ratings are collected per milestone, not just per project. This provides a more accurate picture of consistent delivery quality. Buyers rate overall satisfaction plus skill-specific performance. Both are visible on developer profiles.
When metrics fall below healthy thresholds, developers may receive warnings and reduced visibility in matching. Sustained underperformance or severe drops can lead to temporary restrictions or permanent removal from the platform.
Developers removed for serious violations (fraud, off-platform payments, abandonment) cannot rejoin. Those removed for performance issues may apply for reinstatement after demonstrating improvement, subject to review.
Ratings are only collected for completed milestones on milestone-funded contracts. This prevents both fake positive ratings (self-reviews) and fake negative ratings (competitor sabotage). Only real transactions generate ratings.
Buyers cannot change ratings once submitted, but developers can respond publicly to feedback. For ratings that violate policies (e.g., personal attacks, factual inaccuracies), developers can request a review.
Metrics are updated in real-time as milestones are completed and rated. Aggregate statistics (like on-time percentage) use a rolling window to reflect recent performance while accounting for track record.
