Upload Content Policy

Understand what you can upload, file size limits, prohibited content, and how we handle your files. By uploading content to Indeelancer, you agree to comply with this policy.

Your responsibilities as an uploader

When you upload files to Indeelancer, you accept the following responsibilities.

Ownership & Rights

You warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to upload the content. You must not upload files that infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights.

Legal Compliance

Uploads must comply with Australian law, including the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (APP) obligations. You are responsible for ensuring uploaded content meets all applicable legal requirements.

Accuracy

Files should be relevant to the brief, milestone, or dispute they are attached to. Misleading or fraudulent uploads may result in account action.

Content Integrity

Files are hashed using SHA-256 for integrity verification. Uploading corrupted or intentionally manipulated files may result in enforcement action.

Prohibited uploads

The following types of content must not be uploaded to Indeelancer under any circumstances.

  • Malware, viruses, trojans, or any form of malicious software
  • Executable files (.exe, .bat, .sh, .js, .cmd, .ps1, .msi)
  • Pornographic, sexually explicit, or obscene material
  • Gambling software or related content
  • Scraped databases or data obtained without consent
  • Personally identifiable information (PII) of third parties without their consent
  • Export-controlled code or technology
  • Confidential third-party proprietary data or trade secrets
  • Content that infringes copyright or intellectual property rights
  • Content that violates Australian law, including the Privacy Act 1988

Enforcement: Uploading prohibited content may result in file quarantine, account suspension, or permanent ban. Illegal content may be reported to the relevant authorities.

Platform moderation rights

To maintain safety and legal compliance, Indeelancer reserves the following rights regarding uploaded content.

Scan & Review

Files may be subject to automated security checks where supported. Files may also be manually reviewed by platform administrators.

Flag & Quarantine

Files that are detected as suspicious or potentially harmful may be automatically flagged or quarantined pending review.

Remove & Restrict

We may remove content that violates this policy and restrict upload access for repeat offenders. Account suspension or termination may apply.

Report & Retain

Illegal content may be reported to Australian authorities. Evidence may be retained as required for investigation or legal compliance.

File retention periods

Files are retained according to the following schedule. After the retention period expires, files are permanently deleted from storage.

Active Contract

Files remain available throughout the contract duration and for 30 days after completion or termination.

Life of contract + 30 days

Dispute Evidence

Evidence files are retained for 24 months following the final resolution of a dispute.

Deleted Accounts

Files associated with deleted accounts are retained for 12 months before permanent removal.

Orphaned Uploads

Uploads that were never confirmed (incomplete uploads) are automatically removed within 24 hours.

Intellectual property

Your content, your responsibility

Uploaders are solely responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights to upload content. Indeelancer acts as a facilitator for file exchange between parties and does not claim ownership of uploaded content. We are not an arbiter of intellectual property disputes between users.

Copyright concerns

If you believe content uploaded to Indeelancer infringes your copyright or intellectual property rights, you may submit a takedown request. Details about the process will be available on our Copyright Notice page.

Common questions about uploading files on Indeelancer.

You can upload PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and ZIP files. Executable files (.exe, .bat, .sh, .js, etc.) are strictly prohibited.

Brief attachments and dispute evidence have a 10 MB per-file limit. Milestone deliveries allow up to 50 MB per file.

Files associated with active contracts are kept for the life of the contract plus 30 days. Dispute evidence is retained for 24 months after resolution. Orphaned uploads (never confirmed) are automatically cleaned up within 24 hours.

Yes. To maintain platform safety and legal compliance, Indeelancer reserves the right to scan, review, flag, quarantine, or remove any uploaded content. Files that are flagged may be reviewed by platform administrators.

Flagged files are placed in a review queue. A platform administrator will review the file and may approve it, request more information, or quarantine it. If a file is quarantined, you will be notified.

You retain ownership of your uploaded content. Indeelancer acts as a facilitator and does not claim ownership of user-uploaded files. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to upload the content.
